College Football Playoffs

With the new college football playoffs format, there are 2 semi-final games and then the championship game.

If your pool includes the championship game, it will show on the picks page, but, will have "TBD" teams until the 2 semi-finals games have finished. Then the 2 teams for the championship will be put into the system. ..at that point, people will have to return to the site to make their championship predictions.

Please note: that the "edit picks" page may read "Picks: Incomplete" until every last game has been selected.

If your pool includes the championship game, and that game is locked, the system will unlock the picks page after the last bowl game, on Jan 2, before the Championship game, so players can pick the Championship game, without being able to change any other game.

Not all pools with bowls include the championship bowl game.

If the championship bowl game is not on your picks page, then your pool does not include the championship game.

Scoring Options

Select only 1
 Straight Pick em

» 1 point for each correct pick

 Ranked Pick em

» For each correct pick, users will receive the number of points equal to the confidence rank that they entered for that game.
» The goal is to score the most points, which may not equate to the most wins
» The "catch" is that ranking numbers can only be used once
  • Put high points on your most confident pick
  • Put low points on your least confident pick

Pick em Against The Spread (ATS)

» All games are picked against half-point spreads
» 1 point for each correct pick
» How it works: Picking Against the Spread
  • Picking against the spread is where you try to determine which team will cover the spread; not necessarily which team will win.
  • While certain teams will win their game, they will not “cover the spread”, and thus if the team is selected it will count as a loss.
  • Example
    • The home team is favored by 16.5 points (-16.5)
    • The home team beats their opponent by 8 points (31 to 23), but, the home team's spread was (-16.5), so, when picking against the spread, the home team's score was 14.5 (31 minus 16.5), which is less than their opponent's score of 23.
    • This means anyone who picked the home team to win by 16.5 points or more was incorrect, since they only won by 8 points
Ranked Pick em Against The Spread (ATS)

» All games are picked against half-point spreads
» For each correct pick, users will receive the number of points equal to the confidence rank that they entered for that game.
» The goal is to score the most points, which may not equate to the most wins
» The "catch" is that ranking numbers can only be used once
  • Put high points on your most confident pick
  • Put low points on your least confident pick

» Odds are enterred for the following week after the current week's last game, by The PoolTracker Team

Straight Pick 'em - Losses count negative

» 1 point for each correct pick
» -1 point for each incorrect pick

Ranked Pick 'em - Losses count negative

» For each incorrect pick, users will have the number of points equal to their confidence rank for that game subtracted from their total.
» The goal is to score the most points, which may not equate to the most wins
» The "catch" is that ranking numbers can only be used once
  • Put high points on your most confident pick
  • Put low points on your least confident pick

» 1 point for each correct pick
» -1 point for each incorrect pick

Ranked Against The Spread - Losses count negative

Population Weighted - ATS - Losses Count Negative

» Correct predictions are awarded points equal to the number of players who incorrectly picked that game.
» Incorrect predictions receive negative points, equal to the number of players who correctly picked that game.
» All predictions are against the spread.
» "New Years Six" Bowls x 2
» National Championship x 4
